The Abu Dhabi Family and Civil and Administrative Claims Court dismissed a civil lawsuit in which a resident demanded Dh167,000 from a law firm and a lawyer because he had earlier assured him they would win his case, but he lost commercial litigation.
Official court documents said the man filed a lawsuit against the law firm and lawyers representing him, asking them to jointly pay him Dh117,000 and another Dh50,000 for material and moral damages he suffered as a result. lost his business lawsuit.
The complainant stated that he had agreed to the law firm represented by the second defendant (lawyer) to file and register his commercial case, and to represent him in court and in non-judicial court appearances. They charged him Dh70,000 in legal fees.
He noted that he paid the defendant Dh62,500 in cash to bring a commercial lawsuit against a company he accused of. However, the man claims in the lawsuit that the firm and lawyers failed to comply with the terms of the agreement, resulting in losses after the case was lost.
On the other hand, the law firm and lawyers filed a claim for the man to pay Dh7,500, which is the balance of the lawyer’s fees in the previous lawsuit, as well as their legal costs in the case. against them.

After hearing from all parties, the judge dismissed the case. The court said in its ruling that both the law firm and the lawyer complied with the agreement. The attorney participated in the commercial litigation and on a committee of experts on which he represented clients, the judge said. “The attorneys also filed issues in the commercial execution documents, so they complied with the agreement signed with the complainant,” said part of the court’s ruling.
The court confirmed that no agreement was violated and that the balance of attorney fees they requested was based on reality and the law.
The man has been ordered to pay the lawyer’s balance and the defendant’s legal costs.
