James Corden has “deeply apologised” to the owner of New York’s Balthazar restaurant.
Keith McNally slammed the 44-year-old talk show host in an online rant on Monday (10/17/22) and announced he was banned for allegedly rude behaviour towards staff Back at the restaurant, but he has now lifted the ban. They discussed these issues directly.
The 71-year-old restaurateur wrote on Instagram: “James Corden just called me and apologised. I blame myself more than most and believe in second chances.
“So if James Corden asked me to host his Late Late Show for nine months, I would immediately rescind his ban on Balthazar.
“No, of course not. But…anyone who is generous enough to apologise to a rascal like me (and my staff) should not be banned from anywhere. Especially Balthazar.”
“So back to 5 Dime, Jimmy Corden, Jimmy Corden. Everything is forgiven. xx. (sic)”
Keith has previously called James “a little idiot” and called him “the most abusive customer ever”.
Recalling the June incident when the Cats actor found a hair in his food, he wrote: “After eating the main course, Corden showed the hair to Balthazar manager G., who was very sorry.
“Corden was very nasty to G and said: ‘Give us another drink this second. And take care of all our drinks so far. This way I [won’t] Write any annoying comments on yelp or something like that. “
Keith added earlier this month that James had criticized staff after his wife Julia’s eggs were allegedly not prepared to her liking during brunch.
He continued: “Mr. Corden’s wife ordered an egg yolk omelet with Gruyere cheese and salad. Minutes after they received the food, James called their server MK and told her the egg yolks There was a bit of egg white in the mix. MK informed the floor manager G. The kitchen recreated the dish, but unfortunately it came with homemade fries instead of the salad.
“That’s when James Corden started yelling frantically at the waiter: ‘You can’t do your job! You can’t do your job! Maybe I should go to the kitchen and make my own omelette!'”
Keith said the waiter was “very sorry” and arranged for free champagne for James and Julia.
But he said the hosts were so “nasty” with their servers for the rest of the brunch time that she “shakes up” for the rest of her shift.
