The first ERA Racing ‘Oscars’ Awards will be held on Sunday 23rd October at Caesars Palace on Blue Waters, Dubai. Beginning at 6pm local time, the invitation-only event will honor Champion Jockey Tadhg O’Shea, Champion Trainer Bhupat Seemar, Champion Owner Khalid Khalifa Al Nabooda, Champion Apprentice, Saif Al Balushi, and several other as-yet unannounced wins By. There will also be a Pat Smullen Award for Best Ride of the Season as well as a Rising Star Award for the achievements and hard work of a worthy stable crew. Awards were also awarded to Best Media Analyst, Thoroughbred Arabian Champion Stallion, sponsored by the Emirates Arabian Horse Association, and Thoroughbred Arabian Champion Breeder, sponsored by the Emirates Arabian Horse Association.
ERA Member and General Manager Mohammad Saeed Rashid Ali Al Shehhi said: “We feel it is important to recognise those who have contributed so much to the success of UAE racing.
“The ERA Oscars will be a way of showcasing what our sport’s best minds have accomplished and a recognition of the hard work of the stable and behind-the-scenes staff. We hope local racing fans will support this new initiative and hope It will be a fitting way to kick off the new season in the UAE, which starts on Friday, October 28.”
