Abu Dhabi. KAZINFORM – Abu Dhabi will host the 26th World Volunteer Congress under the theme “Volunteering for the Common Good: Making Lives Better for People and Communities”. Co-hosted by the Emirates Foundation and the International Association of Volunteer Efforts (IAVE), the event will take place from 24 October to 27 October 2022 at ADNOC Business Centre, WAM Report.
Abu Dhabi won the bid in three shortlisted cities and was selected by IAVE to host the 26th World Volunteer Congress, becoming the first capital in the Middle East to host this coveted global convention. The conference is the world’s largest gathering of volunteer experts and takes place every two years. It aims to address the many challenges and issues in volunteering and to highlight a culture of volunteering in the sustainable development of promising societies and nations.
The event is expected to attract up to 1,000 participants and stakeholders from the global volunteer community, including leaders from more than 100 countries around the world, civil society organizations, government agencies, academia and businesses to share their commitment to this initiative. IAVE is the only international organization that connects volunteering leadership, companies and NGOs under the common goal of supporting volunteerism, encouraging humanitarian work and supporting the efforts of volunteers around the world.
