Vanessa Hudgens will star in horror director Eli Roth’s new virtual reality experience.
The 33-year-old actress will welcome viewers into the “Ultimate Haunted House” on Meta’s new exclusive show “Eli Roth’s Haunted House: Trick-VR-Treat.”
The project comes from Roth’s Crypt TV banner and takes fans on a terrifying Halloween adventure that culminates in an immersive haunted house.
Written and directed by Roth, the 30-minute, 180-degree VR experience will premiere Friday (10/21/22) on Meta’s Horizon Worlds and Meta Quest TV. The experience can also be viewed on Crypt TV’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
The story of “Trick-VR-Treat” will unfold from the perspective of a teen in the most exciting Halloween neighborhood in town, who is invited into the infamously haunted dollhouse by a young woman dressed as a fairy (Huggins).
Viewers then enter a living nightmare into the spooky former home where Dollmaker used to make toys for all the kids in the area.
However, the glue she used was poisonous and everyone who played with the toys died – including her own two daughters.
This is Hudgens’ first appearance in a virtual reality project, where she starred alongside Will Sasso.
In a statement, she said: “I worked with Eli Roth, Crypt TV and Meta to bring this horrific story to life.
“It does add so much excitement and new elements to playing a character, considering how the audience is going to have an immersive experience in 180 degrees. I don’t want to reveal too much, but I can say for sure that you will Be scared…you’ll love it.”
Ross added: “I love the storytelling format and have wanted to make a truly immersive horror film for years. I wanted to build the ultimate haunted house, and Meta enabled me to bring my vision to life.”
