Dubai-based airline flydubai has announced a new agreement with Czech Republic-based airline Smartwings to wet lease four next-generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft from 17 November 2022 to 16 January 2023 .
The Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance (ACMI) agreement with Smartwings will give flydubai four leased aircraft from its fleet of 68 Boeing 737 aircraft, allowing the airline to add more capacity to its passengers and meet Travel needs during busy winter months.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said: “We are delighted to confirm this new wet lease agreement with Smartwings, an IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) certified company with extensive experience in ACMI protocols. Previously working with Smartwings However, we believe that chartering an additional four aircraft will provide our passengers with a more convenient and reliable option for winter travel.”
flydubai currently operates a single fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft, including 32 Next Generation Boeing 737-800s, 33 Boeing 737 MAX 8s and 3 Boeing 737 MAX 9s.

The all-economy aircraft will operate on select routes on flydubai’s network, including Chattoum, Colombo, Dhaka, Karachi, Multan, Muscat and Sialkot.
A statement from the airline said flydubai passengers booked on flights operated by Smartwings will be notified in advance of their travel dates. – arab trade news agency
