UAE flight ban: The new Federal Airlines notice says the UAE’s ban on entry to India remains unchanged

In the notice (NOTAM) sent to pilots on Sunday, the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) cited a GCAA document dated June 21, which indicated entry from 13 countries, including Pakistan, Banned due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Dubai said on June 19 that the entry ban on people who have visited India, Nigeria and South Africa in the past 14 days will be relaxed from June 23.

Under these changes, UAE residents who have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus in India, anyone vaccinated in South Africa, and Nigerians who have tested negative for the coronavirus in the past 48 hours will be allowed to enter.

A GCAA representative said on Sunday that those from India are still barred from entering the United Arab Emirates, but postponed to make further comments to the Dubai government. The Dubai Media Office did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment.

Dubai’s Emirates Airline stated on Twitter that it will be able to offer flights from India from July 7, but warned that this may change.

“We are waiting for the exact travel agreement and guide before we can recover.”

Indians are one of the largest residential communities in the UAE and the largest source market for tourists.

Dubai reopened its borders to foreign tourists in July, and Abu Dhabi Requires quarantine for immigrants from most countries.

As India faces a surge in coronavirus infections, a nationwide ban on entry from India began in April.

Certain individuals, such as UAE citizens and diplomats, have been exempted from the entry ban.
