Entertainment retail returns to Destiny USA in Syracuse

Syracuse, NY — An entertainment retail store that left Destiny USA a decade ago is back.

FYE (For Your Entertainment) recently opened in 4,500 square feet of retail space on the first floor of the mall.

Known as the “Family’s Preferred Pop Culture Destination,” FYE sells branded collectibles, apparel, candy, plush toys, home decor and other items. Marvel, Star Wars, Pokemon, Squishmallows, Funko and Naruto are some of the popular brands shoppers can find on FYE.

In a press release announcing the opening, FYE Chief Marketing Officer Jodie Evans said: “We are excited to offer customers a fun shopping experience in the mall where they can find the latest updates on the latest anime or vinyl that everyone is talking about. Album.” The Syracuse Store.

Albany-based FYE, then owned by Trans World Entertainment, expanded in 2001 after acquiring and renaming the mall store. But in 2012, the company closed its Destiny USA store in Syracuse, and in 2018, closure Its Great Northern Mall store in Clay. The company also closed a number of other stores around the same time, blaming a drop in mall traffic.

Evans said in the press release that FYE now operates nearly 200 stores nationwide and hopes to continue expanding the FYE brand in more locations. According to it, the company also aims to “meet the needs of customers who have to touch, hear and experience products before purchasing.” website.
