‘You were impressed by your minister’: UAE Minister of EAM Jaishankar

Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar has been praised by UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Omar Sultan Al Olama, for deftly bringing India’s foreign policy to the world stage in a geopolitical tug of war.

Omar Sultan Al Olama was almost speaking at the opening of the Delhi think tank conference CyFY2022, while praising S Jaishankar when answering a question on how he was dealing with geopolitical headwinds.

“Historically, the world has been unipolar, bipolar or tripolar, and you have to choose your side. I was very impressed by your foreign minister – I saw some of his speeches. For the UAE and India coming Said, one thing is very clear, that we don’t need to choose sides,” said Omar Sultan Al Olama.

“At the end of the day, geopolitics is determined by the best interests of certain parties. … Unfortunately, the pattern that has existed in history no longer exists. Today, a country needs to consider its best interests,” he added.

To reinforce his point, the UAE minister said that if his country cooperates with India, it does not mean that its door to cooperation with the United States is closed. “The three of us can work together. The I2U2 (India-Israel-UAE-US) group is a good example.”

UAE minister says: ‘It’s time to rule the world through business’

Stressing the importance of trade and investment, Omar Sultan Al Olama said countries need to dominate the world through trade and commerce. He also expressed the possibility of India and the UAE working together to expand its global footprint.

“The way to rule the world today is through business. If countries like India and the UAE can cooperate, we can greatly increase our footprint in the world,” Olama said in his video interaction.

He then highlighted a number of possible areas for cooperation and cooperation between the two countries. There are deep-seated similarities between India and the UAE. One of them is their work with startups.

The three-day conference, organised by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in Delhi to discuss technology, security and social issues, started on Wednesday.

Over the next three days, several dignitaries will participate in about 28 panels. 150 speakers from 37 countries around the world will participate in these discussions.
