What to Give: Mauldin Cultural Centre Offers Art, Entertainment and Opportunities for People Who Find You

From singing and sketching to theatre and festivals, every season is an opportunity to try something new and appreciate the talent of local artists Mauldin Cultural Centre.

The Mauldin Cultural Centre hosts local artists and offers year-round instruction in a variety of skills. Susan Wilson and Michelle Hyer of The Art Haven offer pottery and multimedia arts classes for grades 1-5, teens and adults. Brandon Dyke teaches individual, duo, and group guitar lessons, including guitar ensemble, rock improv, and music theory. Topics that have been offered as single or seasonal classes in the past include ballroom, Latin and swing dancing, basket weaving and embroidery.

“Our program continues to expand, and we have more,” Faust said. “We’re planning to add new music products that everyone is asking for. We’ll be announcing these on social media soon.”

The Mauldin Outdoor Amphitheater hosts seasonal events such as beach friday and Mauldin Makers Market, Northern suppliers sell locally sourced items.This year’s holiday event “Unforgettable December” is planned for Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 6-9pm, including tree lighting, holiday market and live music. The amphitheater, as well as the center’s artisan studios, meeting rooms and auditorium, can be rented out for classroom and private events.

“We are very proud of our theatrical program,” Faust said. “We keep hearing from people who are shocked by the quality of our production.”
