UAE-Georgia non-oil trade hits $166m in first half of 2022

Non-oil foreign trade between the UAE and Georgia is growing rapidly, reaching over US$166 million in the first half of 2022, an increase of 104% compared to the same period in 2021, a record high. The two countries will have a combined total of more than $223 million in 2021, an increase of 52% compared to 2020.

The first round of negotiations for the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and Georgia was held recently in Tbilisi.

Dr. Sani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, said the UAE’s unwavering commitment to expanding the base of economic partnerships with markets of regional and global strategic importance is in line with its doubling of non-oil foreign trade to further efforts to double the national economy to AED 3 trillion by 2030.

Georgia has become one of the top destinations in the UAE since flydubai launched direct flights to Tbilisi, and Georgia sees great potential in the UAE tourism market.
