Motley Crue’s Mick Mars quits touring entertainment

[ad_1]

Mötley Crüe axe-killer Mick Mars has quit the tour.

The 71-year-old co-founding member of “Girls, Girls, Girls” served as lead guitarist for 4 years, and continued to play heroically over the years despite suffering from severe arthritis in her spine. The “disabling” degenerative disease ankylosing spondylitis.

A statement read: “Mick Mars, co-founder and lead guitarist of heavy metal band Mötley Crüe for the past 41 years, announced today that he will no longer be able to play with the band due to his ongoing painful battle with ankylosing spondylitis.

“Mick will continue to be a part of the band, but can no longer handle the tough road.

“AS is an extremely painful and disabling degenerative disease that affects the spine.”

The pain in the rocker got so bad at one point that he became addicted to painkillers.

After a successful hip surgery, Mick went on a successful tour.

He recalled in 2008: “My situation was getting worse, I just stopped playing guitar for almost two years.

“Right now, it was fine, but at the time I was excited about all this stuff and Motley was resting and I knew if I didn’t stop, I was going to die. Finally, I had to see a neuropsychiatrist , to cheer me up, he said to me, “Hold the guitar for an hour a day — don’t play it, hold it. “It was weird, but I got through it and in the end I think I actually became a better player because of it.”

The news comes shortly after Motley, who includes Vince Neal, 61, Tommy Lee, 60, and Nicky Hicks, 63, announced next year’s joint tour of the stadium with Def Leppard.

After this year’s stay in North America, “Home Sweet Home” will take their epic show to the rest of the world.

“We played ‘The Stadium Tour’ in North America this summer, and we really can’t wait to play ‘The World Tour’ globally in 2023,” they said in a statement.

“Latin American and European bad guys: get ready! We’ll come to you next and can’t wait to see you all again next year!”

Mick’s successor has not been announced.

There were rumors of Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 succeeding Mick, but he denied this in a since-deleted post.
