The super fun family festival is back in the 2022 showdown…
Mother of Nations (MOTN) returns to Abu Dhabi’s Corniche this December, and after a stellar event last year, we’re looking forward to something big in 2022.
This is an event to celebrate the legacy of His Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation. The scope of the celebration is extensive, with the venue set and occupying a large waterfront beachfront leisure space.
There isn’t much confirmation on the content, and what the 2022 edition looks like right now, but we do know it’s happening between December 9th and 18th, and tickets traditionally go on sale in early November. And using the classic “wild guess x what happened last year” journalism collaboration – we have some theories about what to expect.
Family-focused fun is often divided into themed zones alongside entertaining spaces, while offering inspirational opportunities and culinary delights. There is a strong stimulating cultural balance. We’re all about these ratios.

We also know that the highlights are subdivided into: Play Zones; Thrill Zones; Inspiration Spaces; Live Arenas; Shopping Zones and Food Centres. 2021 has a High Joint (one of our favourite UAE Burger JOINTS) pop-ups, Nickelodeon World, Parkour classes, fireworks and Rick and Morty laser tags.
MOTN also usually includes concerts by local, regional and international artists. The highlight of last year’s performance roster was undoubtedly Craig David, who ended the festival in the most spectacular fashion. Literally, he was born for it.
We can’t wait to see what 2022 has in store for us. MOTN We’ve got you covered…
