Two Indian expats were killed in a traffic accident on Maliha Road on Thursday afternoon. Fujairah resident, MNP Jaleel, 43, and his business partner, Zubair Nangarathu, 45, were involved in the accident while driving to Dubai.

Initial reports indicated that the men allegedly lost control of the vehicle due to a punctured tire.

According to social workers in Fujairah, the pair run a cosmetics and fine jewelry store with operations in Oman and the United Arab Emirates.

Two men from Kerala have lived in the Middle East for nearly 25 years and have been residents of Fujairah for the past 16 years.

“They’re best friends,” social worker Sabis said. “Childhood pals will never be without each other. They started a business together, and now, even in death, they are together.”

Jalil’s wife Jasmina and their children Muhammad, Fatima and Jumana are also residents of Fujairah. Community members are now processing the paperwork to bring the bodies back to India for burial.
