Abu Dhabi, UAE: The 12th World Congress of Cosmetic Dentistry (IFED) concluded in Abu Dhabi over the weekend with nearly 2,500 visitors and participants engaged in meaningful dialogue and business interaction. The three-day conference and exhibition featured 17 world-renowned dental aesthetics expert speakers and more than 65 international brands from 18 participating countries. About 53% of visitors are from the region, while another 47% are from international audiences. IFED 2022 also featured four workshops that included hands-on training to provide experience in implant dentistry-guided surgery using printed positioning guides.

IFED holds a world scientific conference every two years in a different city, hosted by member colleges and attended by thousands of dentists and delegates from all over the world. This year’s IFED 2022 conference, co-hosted by Abu Dhabi in conjunction with the Arab Academy of Dental Aesthetics, marks the first time the conference has been held in the MENA region.

The final day of the conference covered a number of groundbreaking topics, including the digital workflow for full-arch implant dentistry 2.0 by Prof. Wael Att, current president of the Arab Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry; Strategies for success; Flap or no flap elevation in implants after immediate extraction as taught by Prof. Giovanni Zucchelli, Member of the European Society of Aesthetic Dentistry; Restoration of Implant Disaster. Full Mouth Restoration When Everything Goes Wrong, taught by Dr. Luca Cordaro, Member of the Italian Society of Osseointegration and Fellow of the International Implant Team (ITI); and Avoidance of Technical Complications with Appropriate Treatment Planning, by ITI Fellow and European Journal of Implantology Published by Prof. Bjarni Pétursson, member of the Editorial Board of Clinical Oral Implant Research.

IFED was co-founded by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the European Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Japanese Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and currently includes the United States, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Iceland, China, France, Portugal, Spain, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, Denmark and Italy.
