Emma Bunton used to “drink a lot” while recording the album with the Spice Girls.
The 46-year-old pop star rose to fame as Baby Spice in the 1990s girl group alongside Geri Halliwell, 50, Victoria Beckham, 48, Melanie C, 48, and Mel B, 47, and revealed The five used to have a glass of wine in the studio because there was a chance of “getting away with it” at the time.
She said: “We used to have a great time, we sometimes went out late, slept for a few hours and then came back on stage, which sucked. We did drink a lot when we were in the studio. The 90s were Best of all, you can get away with anything!”
“What’s taking you so long?” hitmaker joined her bandmates this week to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their chart-topping album “Spiceworld” – adding that if she wears things normally associated with other girls, She always felt “weird”, like the leopard print as Scary Spice or the famous Union Jack logo for Ginger Spice, and still finds the idea odd to this day.
The Daily Star’s Wired column quoted her as saying: “I always feel weird if I wear any leopard print, I just can’t, I still find it weird to wear a leopard print or a Union Jack!”
Emma also revealed that despite trying hard at the early parties, by 1998 Jerry had left the band and both Victoria and Mel B had found out they were pregnant, meaning Baby felt as if she had to “drink three”, with Once left her throwing up from a car window on the highway.
She said: “Mel B and Victoria were pregnant so we all went out and I thought I was going to drink three people because they couldn’t drink. So I drank too much. We were on the motorway and I threw up and flew out Outside the window, it flew back into Mel B’s mouth!”
