The South Arkansas University Theatre will present Thornton Wilder’s “Our Town” at the Hatton Theatre from November 16-19.
“Our Town” is set in a small town in New Hampshire and tells the story of two families who live next door – the Gibbs and the Webbs. Their lives reflect the everyday nuances that people face today. They do the housework, listen to the gossip about the town, the children play, they love and grieve.
Billed as “The Greatest American Play,” Our Town will run November 16-19 at 7pm and November 20 at 2pm.
November 16 will be an open “Do Your Best” night, accepting tickets of any amount. Tickets for the November 17-20 performance are $5 for students, $7 for SAU faculty, staff and seniors, and $10 for general admissions.
Tickets will be available at the door or online.

Duren is from Jackson State University, where he worked for nine years in the Department of Arts and Drama. Duren graduated from Jackson State University in 2010 with degrees in Mass Communication and English. After graduating from JSU, he pursued a master’s degree in screenplay and screenwriting at the University of Arkansas. This fall, he will receive his Ph.D. in urban higher education.
Despite his love of acting, Prince has achieved his most notable success as a playwright. In 2016 alone, he has published five plays and is currently writing his first textbook on screenwriting, titled The Road to Your First Play.
When it comes to drama, Prince feels he has yet to construct his greatest dialogue, create his most memorable character, or conceive his greatest play. Therefore, he has been working towards this ultimate goal. His life goes like this: “In a world where you can be anything, why not be yourself?”
