Rebel Wilson’s daughter’s name was inspired by Queen Elizabeth.
The 42-year-old actress recently announced that she welcomed a baby girl through surrogacy, and Rebel has now explained the meaning behind her daughter Royce Lillian’s name.
The movie star, who has a relationship with designer Ramona Agruma, shared: “I wanted an original name that started with the letter R, so it ended up with that one.”
Rebel also explained the inspiration behind her daughter’s middle name.
She told PEOPLE: “Both Lillian and Elizabeth are the last names of women I admire in my family. Elizabeth, which is also my middle name, after the late Queen.”
Rebel made the comments shortly after she took to Instagram to announce the arrival of her first child.
The actress wrote on the photo-sharing platform: “Very proud to announce the birth of my first child, Royce Lillian, through surrogacy last week. [heart emoji]
“I can’t even describe how much I love her, she is a beautiful miracle! I am forever grateful to everyone who was involved, (you know who you are), this has been in the making for years…but especially wanted to Thank you to my beautiful surrogate mother who gave birth to her with such grace and closeness. Thank you for helping me build my family, what an amazing gift. The best gift!! (sic)
Rebel also revealed that she has “quickly learned” the challenges of being a mother.
The actress – who opened up about her relationship with Ramona in June – continued: “I’m ready to give little Roisie all the love imaginable. I’m a quick learner…great respect for all the moms out there! Very Proud to be in your club. [heart emojis] (sic)”
