Madison Beer feels ‘so suicidal’ after being dropped by her record label.
The 23-year-old star, who was knocked out of her label at the age of 16, recalled being in a “dark place” after receiving the news.
Madison shared during an appearance on the ‘Reign With Josh Smith’ podcast: “To be completely transparent…I want to kill myself so much. Every inconvenience in my life, my first thought is suicide, really of.
“I’m living in such a dark place and I’m so hopeless. I feel so defeated. I feel embarrassed. I feel like no one likes me. With so many ingredients, I really just want to get out.
“And I remember maybe until 2018, 2019, I wasn’t 19 — 19 was probably one of the worst years of my life — but when I was 19, it finally caught up with me.
“Going from being eliminated at 16, signing at 12, mourning the passing of those raw years, and a lot of other things that happened behind the scenes, has been haunting me. I had these feelings back then, and I didn’t want to be here any longer.”
Madison “couldn’t understand” why she was dumped by her label.
But the brunette beauty even starved herself as she tried to accept her disappointment.
The “Home With You” lead singer said: “I don’t understand why my record label gave up on me and why the people who promised to be forever in my life never spoke to me again. It’s really hard, it shows A lot of anger causes me to hate myself.
“It caused me to starve myself. There were so many layers of self-hatred that came up and I was so insecure, it was crazy because I am so different now and I am so grateful.
“But it’s a choice, and it’s not a linear choice. There’s nothing in the world of therapy, and I think that’s still my journey today.
“I obviously still have my dark moments, my dark days, my episodes, whatever it is. I do have a fair amount of PTSD and trauma that I’m still working through.”
