Emirates News Agency – Nahyan bin Mubarak opens 9th Abu Dhabi Peace Forum

ABU DHABI, 8th November, 2022 (WAM) — Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, held the ninth Abu Dhabi in Abu Dhabi from 8th to 10th November 2022 The opening ceremony of the Zabi Peace Forum.

The event was attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Baye, Chairman of the Forum for Peace in Muslim Communities, Chairman of the UAE Fatwa Committee and Head of the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum; Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al Issa, Muslim World Secretary General of the Union; Dr Marouf Amin, Vice President of Indonesia; Hussein Ibrahim Taha, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation; Ministers; representatives of international organizations; officials of Islamic organizations; ambassadors; representatives of government agencies; parliamentarians ; scholars; judges; religious leaders; thinkers; scholars and practitioners of peace and coexistence around the world.

In his speech, Sheikh Nahyan said that the UAE’s values ​​of peace, tolerance and human fraternity under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan are traditional values ​​of the Emirati community and proud. He pointed out that His Highness President Sheikh Mohammed always stressed the importance of such human values, which are shared by all peoples.

He also shared the relevant experience of the UAE, affirming the importance of tolerance and human fraternity in promoting cooperation, adding that ensuring a bright future for the entire world requires serious efforts to promote the values ​​of tolerance and address discrimination.

He went on to point out that achieving peace and combating extremism requires constant and concerted efforts, whether through the introduction of relevant laws, publicity campaigns, strengthening the role of the media, or creating an appropriate public environment that encourages people to coexist.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak stressed that the UAE celebrates the main role of religion as a driving force for achieving peace and social harmony and developing inter-religious relations.

Dr. Mohammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Isa, Secretary-General of the World Muslim League, said that peace is the core value of Islam, and Islam is a religion of peace, which reinforces the values ​​of peace, tolerance and coexistence, attaching great importance to human dignity.
