UAE claim unbeaten run across Europe Netball U17 Challenge

[ad_1]

In this weekend’s European Netball U17 Challenge, the United Arab Emirates U17 team proved that they are much better than their opponents.
The four-game unbeaten run scored in the ’70s and ’90s underscores the developmental differences between participating teams. The UAE have invested heavily in their push for top-level netball with an eye on the rivalry between England and Australia, and they showed their edge even as they faced the unbeaten Republic of Ireland in their final game.
The UAE took the lead in the final encounter with a 10-point lead as the Republic of Ireland fought back.
The strength across the pitch was evident, however, as the UAE didn’t offer Ireland much breathing room to make up for the deficit created early in the game.
At half-time, the UAE led 32-17 and went unbeaten, highlighting the difference between them and their opponents as they have a place in the top flight.
Ireland have seen some of their top players make their way into top netball, and while there is a talented group of players who would have won on any other occasion, they don’t have the overall quality of their opponents.
A small group of Irish fans tried to provide some much-needed support from the stands, but from the second half the UAE began to increase their numbers.
The game itself is a pivotal moment for Gibraltar’s netball, which starts on Sunday morning and is bound to be assessed in light of future events. With two top teams in the game, it is important that Gibraltar as hosts maintain the high standards they set.
The game will be played without any undue questions, and European netball commentators have already raved about the organization and welcomed by European netball.
From livestreaming to music entertainment during breaks, online ticket sales, to event management and logistics for event management, organizers and volunteers were on hand from early morning.
The UAE vs ROI match can be seen as a cup final type match between the two teams, with a relative status somewhat similar to what Gibraltar expects for the World Youth Championship in 2025, another well-organised match , there is entertainment on the pitch.
The UAE took a 49-25 lead after the third quarter, further widening the point gap with the combative Ireland.
After approaching the 50-goal mark, they looked intent on securing a one-point-per-minute average, which they have surpassed during the game.
The final period was the pride of Ireland, who needed to finish with a smaller goal difference.
However, their break after the third quarter was a surprising moment, with Irish players dancing on the bench and fans in the stands joining in.
The UAE relentlessly pursued a 65-33 unbeaten victory in the latest edition of the European Netball U17 Challenge.
