DUBAI: The fourth edition of the AccessAbilities Expo, billed as “the largest disability event in the Middle East, South Asia and Africa”, opened at the Dubai World Trade Center on Tuesday.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, President of Dubai Airports, Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, Ahmed Abu Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League, and Minister Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid accompanied the community development The first part of the Expo kicked off with 250 exhibitors from 50 countries showcasing products and services for the determined.

Organized by Nadd Al Shiba PR & Event Management, the Expo attracted more than 10,000 professional visitors from different countries. The exhibition showcased technology products, some of which are being exhibited for the first time in the Middle East, to strengthen people’s resolve and empower them.

Ahmed Abu Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, expressed his pleasure to participate in the event. He thanked Sheikh Ahmed for his continued sponsorship of the exhibition and the “Independent Living” initiative, another initiative within the framework of the work of the League of Arab States as it supports the implementation of the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
The General Secretariat of the Federation of Arab Chambers of Commerce, with the support of the Arab League, launched the “Independent Living” initiative in cooperation with UNIDO Bahrain and signed a joint cooperation agreement with the management of international exhibitions. People of Determination, 30 March, with the presence of Sheikh Ahmed and Ahmed Abu Al-Ghait, aims to showcase the innovations of Arab innovators during the exhibition to support technology that serves people of determination.
The initiative aims to encourage Arab innovators to create advanced systems, procedures and technologies that serve people with special needs, adhere to high standards, select technologies that best suit the needs of people of determination based on these standards, and seek the necessary funding .
