One Tree Hillof Hillary Burton call out Full houseof Candice Cameron Bray After her recent comments about “traditional marriages” and Big Family Network.
during an interview wall street journalBure explained her decision to leave Hallmark Channel and sign a major deal with the Great American Family network.
One thing she singled out as a selling point for GAC is that the network won’t depict same-sex relationships in its movies or TV shows, saying, “I think Great American Family is going to have traditional marriage at its core.”
She continued, “I know the people behind Great American Family are loving Christians who want to promote faith planning and good family entertainment. “
Apparently, her comments drew some criticism, and Burton took to Twitter to express her feelings.
“Biotic. I don’t remember Jesus liking a hypocrite like Candy. But sure. Make money honey. You ride the wave of bigotry all the way to the bank,” the actress wrote.
Chief Executive Officer of the GAC, bill abbottalso made some comments related to LGBTQ+ relationships in the interview, calling same-sex couples a “trend.”
“It’s definitely 2022, so we understand the trends,” he said.
In response, Burton wrote, “Now they’re just openly acknowledging their bigotry. I spoke out about it years ago when Abbott was at Hallmark. Glad they dumped him. Be LGBTQ Not a ‘trend’. That man and his network are disgusting. You Candy too. There’s nothing unconventional about same-sex couples.”
Back in late 2019, Burton claimed she was “let go” by the Hallmark project because of her push for inclusion.

“I insisted on an LGBTQ character, an interracial couple and a diverse cast. I was polite, direct and professional. But after executives took notes on the script, my… request was not respected and I was Telling ‘take it or leave it,'” she recalls.
Burton went on to say, “The bigotry came from the top and permeated the whole deal out there,” before praising Lifetime for becoming more inclusive.
Her 2019 statement came shortly after Hallmark faced backlash for pulling an ad that featured same-sex couples kissing at a wedding, according to CNN.
Since then, Hallmark Strive to be more diverse and inclusivewhich appears to be a factor in Bure’s decision to move to the GAC.
As for One Tree Hill alum, when she was praised for standing up for her values, more support her recent remarks about Bure.
One person replied, “I always knew you were great watching OTH. Thanks for speaking up for those of us who for whatever reason can’t speak loudly or forcefully. Just wanted to say, you know, just In case Twitter ends suddenly.”
