“Shaping the Future of the Media Industry”. The aim of bringing together more than 1,200 specialists and specialists from the media field, 162 internationally renowned speakers, and more than 170 companies and media representing 29 different countries in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, has become the main goal of the World Media Congress 2022 Year (World Media Congress). This Tuesday, November 15, is the first of three conferences expected to define the future of the information and communications industryand the integration of technology into the sector.

The first day opened with welcome addresses from Mohamed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director General of WAM, the UAE’s national news agency and Chairman of the Congress’s High Organizing Committee, and Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and CEO of ADNEC Group, the two main companies organizing the event. “World Media Congress will be a new global platform to shape the future of the media industry through international media collaboration,” WAM quoted Jalal Al Rayssi as saying. “The media industry in the UAE has successfully developed a special […] Use innovative and creative tools to communicate development messages”.

Global Media Investments CEO and E&Company CEO Nart Bouran Joins Investor Talks Defining Media Investing Trends and how this will affect the media landscape, while Sophie Hvitved, senior media consultant and future researcher at the Institute for the Future in Copenhagen, Denmark, participated in the presentation “Investing in the Metaverse: How Media Companies Can Profit”.
In this spirit, the presentation on the first day of the conference also included an interview on the future of media in the World Wide Web 3 world and a short The debate on the role of artificial intelligence, machine learning and automation in the future of turning news into informationby Philippe Pettipunt, co-founder and CEO of Newsbridge France.
The day was also attended by, among others, Shamma bin Suhail Fari Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs; Ramzan bin Abdullah aL Nuaimi, Minister of Information Affairs, Bahrain; Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Director, Media Bureau, Government of Dubai; Digital Media, Culture and Fashion, NEOM City, Saudi Arabia Wayne Berg, CEO; and Caroline Farag, Vice President and Editor-in-Chief, CNN Arabic, UAE.
This Congress – along with other sessions such as the Abu Dhabi Media Summit, the International Government Exchange Forum (IGCF) or the Arab Media Forum – Aims to improve the UAE’s 138th out of 180 in the international press freedom ranking compiled by Reporters Without Borders (RSF).
