Bethenny Frankel insists she’s “a little ahead” after some “Real Housewives” stars criticize her new podcast.
The 52-year-old reality star was reliving her memories from her “ReWives” appearance, and former cast members including Carole Radziwill and Luann de Lesseps called her to discuss them.
In an interview with Extra, she said: “I play chess, a lot of people play checkers … Listen, if people are concerned or have trouble with that, I get it.
“I expected it… I’m always a few steps ahead of everyone else, enjoy it… Don’t worry, everyone is worried, it’s okay.”
Bethenny also noted that she was all-in on the podcast even before it launched, which she insisted won’t be a “cheap, easy-to-get” outcome.
She added: “We hit No. 8 when it wasn’t even out yet.
“It’s not just a side dish, it’s cake, icing, filling, flavor and tenderness…
“It’s amazing and unexpected. It’s not cheap, low-hanging fruit.”
At the same time, she explained that the podcast is not just an episode-by-episode run, but a “conversation” about it with people from “media, entertainment and pop culture.” [franchise]”.
She added: “I believe we end up going through most of the big episodes, there are a lot of them.
“But it’s the signature episodes, the ones that really jump off the page, the ones that are the main conversation starters in all the cities of the franchise…sometimes it’s for the people who are coming.”
After leaving “The Real Housewives of New York City” for the second time in 2019, Bethenny agonized over whether she’d tune in to the new cast.
“I don’t know if I’d be in the world watching right now. I’m sure it depends. Maybe there will be curiosity,” she said.
