Oli (Uttarakhand) [India]Nov 19 (ANI): The 18th India-US joint training exercise ‘Yudh Abhyas 22’ kicked off in Auli, Uttarakhand, on Saturday.

Exercise Yudh Abhyas is conducted annually between India and the United States to exchange best practices, tactics, techniques and procedures between the two militaries. The previous version of the exercise took place in October 2021 at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, Alaska (USA).

“The 18th Indo-US Joint Exercise Yudh Abhyas kicked off today at the Auli Foreign Training Centre. The purpose of the joint exercise is to enhance interoperability and share expertise between the two armies in peacekeeping and disaster relief operations,” the Indian Army said. a tweet.

Soldiers from the 2nd Brigade of the US 11th Airborne Division and soldiers from the Indian Army’s Assam Regiment will participate in the exercise. The training program focuses on the use of integrated battle groups under Title VII of the United Nations mandate.

“The timetable will include all operations related to peacekeeping and peace enforcement. The militaries of the two countries will work together to achieve common goals. The joint exercise will also focus on Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations. To leverage the expertise and experience of both militaries, command post exercises and expert academic discussions (EAD) will be conducted on carefully selected topics.

The scope of field training exercises includes validation of integrated battlegroups, force multipliers, establishment and operation of surveillance grids, validation of combat logistics, mountain combat skills, casualty evacuation, and combat medical assistance in harsh terrain and weather conditions.

The DOD said the exercise will involve a broad exchange of operational skills and practice, including operational engineering, the use of drone/counter-drone technology and information operations.
