Letitia Wright loves acting because she can “have [her] Let’s eat the cake.”
The 29-year-old actress, who plays Shuri in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” loves the challenges of her job.
She explained: “I love acting because I can have my cake and eat it. One day I can be the Black Panther of the 1970s, or I can be the Black Panther of Wakanda.”
Letitia became a global star for her role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
But when she’s out in London, Letitia feels like “Tish, the girl from Tottenham Hotspur”.
Asked if she had been stopped in London, Letitia told the Guardian: “Not really. I just blend in, I see myself differently than other people see me.
“I don’t see myself as Letitia Wright. I see myself as Tish, the girl from Tottenham Hotspur.”
Asked to explain the difference between actresses Letitia and Tish
Replied: “I guess Letitia is professional, punctual and on top of her schedule.
“Tish is just trying to figure out how to fit her family in time, trying to feed off her art, and trying to keep her feet on the ground so Letitia can have a good foundation.”
Meanwhile, Letitia recently revealed that she used to believe that “straighter hair is better”.
The actress explained that she embraced her “beauty” after joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
She said: “I think, unfortunately, I was pulled into the belief that straight hair is better and unfortunately I had hair treatments as a child that lost all of its natural beauty.
“But actually playing Shuri, with the braids, and seeing everything in the movie so celebrated really encouraged me to embrace my beauty with my hair.”
