ABU DHABI: Members of the third batch of mediators of the Abu Dhabi Real Estate Dispute Resolution Center (Taswiya) were sworn in before Youssef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Department of Justice (ADJD), who will perform their mediation role in resolving real estate disputes through litigation instead way to reach a settlement.
The swearing-in ceremony was to implement the decision of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Courts and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Justice, to authorize another team of mediators for real estate disputes, consisting of six members to form a new member.
Al Abri highlighted the importance of the role played by the Centre, which was established following the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Municipalities and Transport to address all real estate disputes through reconciliation and work towards a peaceful resolution of conflicts.
Pioneering role
The ADJD Deputy Minister stated that the Emirate of Abu Dhabi was a pioneer in the region in developing a real estate mediation mechanism that strengthens the emirate’s competitive position for real estate investment as one of the important sectors that needs to deal with flexible mechanisms to ensure the smoothness of various procedures run while safeguarding the rights of all parties and finding effective solutions to contract-related disputes in record time.
Al Abri drew attention to the judiciary’s interest in the qualification and training of real estate mediators based on international best practices adopted in the Mediator Foundation Program offered by the Abu Dhabi Judicial Academy.
