“The UAE authorities have decided to suspend visas on arrival for passengers who have arrived or been to India in the past 14 days. We are working hard to update our website,” Etihad Airways’ official customer relations Twitter account informs passengers
Last week, Etihad Airways stated that Indians with visas or residence permits issued by the United States, the United Kingdom or EU member states can visit Abu Dhabi.
“If you are an Indian citizen, you are now eligible to apply for a visa upon arrival in the UAE (including Abu Dhabi). To be eligible, you must hold a U.S. visitor visa or green card, or hold a valid UK or EU residency for at least six Months. Your passport must be valid for at least six months,” the national airline said in a statement.
No reason for the suspension was provided.
On the other hand, Oman will allow fully vaccinated travelers from India (those who have been vaccinated with Covishield) to visit the country from September 1. The second dose should be taken at least 14 days before the travel date.
