UAE: How homeowners can save on electricity and water bills in Ras Al Khaimah

[ad_1]

Munther Mohammed bin Shekar, Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, said: “Ras Al Khaimah Municipality strives to continuously expand its services to meet the more complex needs of residents. We hope that the Manzily Energy Advice service will make the residents of Ras Al Khaimah more Be aware of opportunities to save energy and water with new technologies and support them to modernize their homes.”

Participation in Manzily Energy Advisory Services does not require homeowners to have any technical background. They can register their interest on the Reem website and use the service for free for a limited time.

The service takes about an hour, and homeowners can choose between a home visit, a video call or a call from an expert energy auditor appointed by the city. Experts will assess the major energy and water consuming devices in their home, such as air conditioning (AC), lights, appliances, water fittings, garden irrigation systems, usage habits of such devices, and major energy-related issues of the homeowner.

Following the assessment, homeowners will receive a short report that includes recommendations on how to conserve energy and water and improve indoor air quality and comfort. These recommendations may include the use of smart technology and controls, the improvement and replacement of inefficient equipment, better maintenance practices, and changes in consumer behavior for certain equipment, such as air conditioning and water fixtures.

The report can also reference other information available on Reem’s website, including a list of energy and water conservation product and service suppliers that homeowners can contact for a more detailed evaluation of recommended solutions.

The new service is part of the Ras Al Khaimah Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Strategy 2040, launched in 2018. The strategy expects to save 30 percent of energy, 20 percent of water and 20 percent of renewable electricity generation contributions by 2040.
