Dubai: Schools close one week before the start of the new semester-News

[ad_1]

Hundreds of students, faculty and staff were affected; the school stated that it was closed due to economic losses caused by the Covid pandemic.

A CBSE affiliated school in Dubai suddenly closed due to Covid-19 financial difficulties, leaving hundreds of students and all their staff in trouble.

Anxious parents and employees of AMLED Dubai School have recently been discussing closing the school in their internal Whatsapp group, which is before the new semester scheduled to start on August 29 after the summer vacation.

On Wednesday night, the school preparing for students from KG to grade 9 unexpectedly notified the parents after notifying everyone.

The document owned by Khaleej Times stated, “After weeks of speculation and anticipation, we announce with a heavy heart that AMLED Dubai School will close its operations.”

It further added, “Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, schools have suffered financial losses to a large extent. AMLED School Dubai has been struggling and struggling for the past few years and has not given up, but the situation has changed during the pandemic. It’s extremely difficult. The number of students has dropped sharply, which has reduced the school’s income.”

It emphasized, “Through this email, we would like to announce that the school will be closed for this school year.”

However, the school will provide regular online courses for its students, which will last from Sunday, August 29, 2021 to Thursday, September 30, 2021.

“Online courses will be conducted by our same faculty and staff. Our administrative and academic staff will continue to provide support until each child is placed in school to continue his/her academic career,” the letter added.

The Knowledge and Human Development Agency (KHDA) rated the school as “good” in its 2019-2020 inspection report.

In the process of trying to help students, the school has also cooperated with a few other institutions rated as “good” by KHDA, “to help students transfer smoothly to these schools without any obstacles.”

A parent who asked not to be named told Khaleej Times, “We were completely unaware of it. I don’t know how to find an opportunity for my son to enroll in such a short period of time. This is such a big change that my son will not be able to. Don’t start again. A new school means new uniforms, entrance fees and new expenses. I am also worried about all of this. The school’s teaching style has always been very good. The teachers are very good. Even they will be unemployed. I I sympathize with them too. They are true heroes. They worked so hard.”

A former teacher at the school said: “I’ve heard about it for a few days. The pandemic is the reason for the school’s closure. But in this case, students and faculty will have difficulty now because before the school reopens in August , No one expected this to happen, especially when I believe that more students will return to the field to study.”
