The rampage marked the second high-profile mass shooting in the country in four days after a shooting at a gay nightclub in Colorado Springs killed five people and wounded 17 others.

Police say the Walmart shooter was a supervisor who left a note claiming he was being harassed and pushed over the edge because he believed his phone had been hacked. He died from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Randy Blevins, 70, worked at Walmart for more than 30 years after owning his own fifty-cent store. Brian Pendleton, 38, who recently celebrated his 10th anniversary at the store, is a go-anywhere guy with a penchant for telling jokes.

Lorenzo Gamble, 43, has worked there for 15 years. He’s a quiet guy at home and likes to go to his 19-year-old’s soccer games. Tyneka Johnson, 22, was young and wanted to make money for herself. She also has a fashion sense and a love for music and dance.

The vigil begins at 6 p.m. and will be held at Chesapeake City Park. (Associated Press)
