Members of the public can now complete visa screenings while shopping or having fun at the mall with family or friends
Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) has opened a new disease prevention and screening center at Al Wahda Mall in the city center ahead of UAE National Day.
The general public can now complete visa screenings while shopping or having fun at the mall with family or friends.
Dr Khadija Al Marashda, Acting Director of Disease Prevention and Screening, said: “This is a new era of setting up visa screening centers in shopping malls, which makes it easy for people to use the centers compared to the previous concept of having separate centers, Seha .
Seha’s network of disease prevention and screening centers includes 12 separate buildings and two shopping mall facilities.
Earlier this month, Mushrif Mall opened a visa screening centre. There are also mobile vans used for visa clinic screenings to visit employees in the workplace. And plans are underway to open more visa inspection centers at other shopping centers in the city.
“Our vision is to expand this concept to other malls. The idea is to make these services easily accessible to the public. We are adapting the concept of going to the customer instead of them coming to our center,” said Dr Al Marashda.

The center’s visa screening process includes registration, medical examinations, vaccinations (if required), blood tests and x-rays. There is a separate entrance for men and women. After registering, a person will receive a text message with the token number followed by an alert. So even if they enjoyed their time at the mall, they can head to the center before it’s their turn.
The center is open weekly from 9am to 7pm. People can make an appointment through the Seha visa screening app or they can go directly to the centre. Fast track and regular visa screening services are available.
The new center is located on the third floor of the Al Wahda Mall extension, just across from the food court.
