If two or more cases are found among students or educators, private schools in Sharjah must be closed and temporarily switched to distance learning.
The agreement proposal came at a time when the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) issued broad guidelines to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the new school year.
If a positive case is found, the staff and parents are obliged to notify the school. Infected students must comply with the required isolation conditions. If the student is vulnerable to infection or belongs to a high-risk category, parents must notify the school.
According to the authorities, the capacity of school buses has been increased to 75%, and schools must put stickers on school bus seats to ensure physical distance in compliance with guidelines.
Canteens will also be allowed to operate, provided they are disinfected on time.
