Omnix and viAct Sign Digital, Security Agreement

[ad_1]

End-to-end digital solutions pioneer Omnix has signed an agreement with viAct, a leading ESG-focused artificial intelligence company, to facilitate digitization and improve safety in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) and Oil & Gas industries.

Under the agreement, Omnix will become the master distributor of viAct’s products and services in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain.

Omnix International has a rich history of over 35 years as an industry-leading solution provider in digital infrastructure, digital transformation of the AEC industry, computer-aided engineering, and cyber security, cloud computing, Autodesk training, and BIM consulting services in the GCC region and the world everywhere.

advanced technology

Omnix has been working with the AEC and the Oil & Gas industry on digital transformation, training and implementing advanced technologies by providing best-in-class digital solutions to the public and private sectors in the GCC region. It is also a value-added reseller of Autodesk and Faro solutions in the region.

“Our strategic partnership with viAct will provide an ingenious dimension to accelerate the digital transformation journey in the fast-growing Middle East region. Leveraging our team’s extensive experience and knowledge of products, solutions and services in the region, coupled with viAct’s expertise in automated surveillance supported by video analytics, the ability to digitally derive data-driven decisions throughout the workflow will be a key driver and business enabler changing the industrial landscape, especially in the AEC and oil and gas industries, said Simran Bagga, Vice President of Engineering and Fundamental Technologies at Omnix.

partnership with cause

AEC and the oil and gas industry are two of the most prominent, lucrative and crucial industries. Security concerns lurk at all stages of the supply chain in both industries. The very nature of these industries makes them vulnerable to workplace fatalities. In fact, the construction industry is considered one of the “most dangerous industries” with the highest number of workplace deaths. The oil and gas industry is not far behind.

According to a safety report published by the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP), the overall recordable injury rate for the industry will increase by 10% in 2021 compared to 2020. In addition, up to 10,000 migrant workers from South and Southeast Asia are reported to die each year in the Gulf countries. The high number of workplace fatalities not only raises questions about workplace safety but also hampers the productivity of the industry due to loss of human resources.

Make the construction site safer

Since its inception, viAct has been committed to making workplaces safer, more efficient and sustainable. It has been working on developing and improving its proprietary scenario-based artificial intelligence to provide intelligent and innovative artificial intelligence solutions that leverage the power of industrial-grade video analytics to meet various security needs in different industries such as construction and oil and gas. Its various solutions harness the power of AI video analytics for the Oil & Gas and AEC industries to target safety and productivity in these industries, including:

• Safety monitoring for working at heights: Falls from Heights (FFHs) through AI video analysis; Slips, Trips and Falls (STF); Workers not wearing (appropriate) PPE, such as hard hats, safety jackets, safety ropes, etc.; Detect improper climbing methods of operators to ensure the safety of high-altitude operations.

• Hazardous area intrusion detection: With video analysis intrusion detection, any instance of workers entering a hazardous area can be detected immediately and an alarm is issued to prevent casualties.

•Safety monitoring of confined space operations: Through artificial intelligence monitoring of confined space operations, AEC and the oil and gas industry can monitor confined space operations in real time, and always pay attention to all aspects of confined space safety.

• Fleet management: AI surveillance systems can facilitate fleet management by providing complete visibility of the fleet such as fleet location, working/operating hours, safety compliance of operators, etc.

instant alert

In addition to this, instant alert systems can help stakeholders in risk prediction and management, and intuitive dashboards can digitize workflows. Thus, with AI-powered monitoring of different workplace scenarios along with instant alert systems and integrated dashboards, viAct can improve safety and productivity in the AEC and Oil & Gas industries in a simple plug-and-play manner.

“This partnership with Omnix aligns with our safety and sustainability aspirations and will bring us closer to realizing our vision. Together with Omnix, we aim to enter the Middle East market and create safer , efficient and sustainable workplaces,” said Gary Ng, founder and CEO of viAct.

viAct and Omnix will be presenting their “AI Video Analytics for Workplace Safety” solution at The Big 5 exhibition at the Dubai World Trade Center from 5-8 December 2022. Senior executives and technical experts from companies will meet customers, consultants and partners at Start-up City at SS1 booth SC49, Sheikh Saeed Hall 1 and share with them their global success stories. — trade arab news agency
