washington [US]3rd December (ANI): India’s ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, presented the award to Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai in San Francisco. Padma Bhushan, one of the country’s highest civilian awards.

On the eve of the 73rd Republic Day, the Home Ministry said Sundar Pichai will be conferred on Padma Bhushan.
After accepting the Padmasambhava award from Sandu, Pichai said in a blog post, “I would like to thank Ambassador Sandu and Consul General Prasad for hosting me for the Lotus Award. I am deeply grateful to the Government of India and the people of India for this great honor …to be honored in this way for shaping my country is very rewarding.”

Talking about the languages added to Google Translate, Pichai said eight of the 24 languages are native Indian languages. Seeing how people can access information and knowledge in their preferred language, and seeing the world open up to them in new ways, means a lot.
“This is why I continue to be so optimistic about technology and why I believe India can and must continue to lead,” he added.
