During the first ten months (10M) of 2022, Brazil’s exports to Arab countries rose by 25.71% to $14.47 billion, the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) reported. Exports increased from US$11.51 billion in 2021 to US$14.47 billion in the first ten months of this year.
Brazil’s exports to the UAE increased by 46.53%, from US$1.76 billion in the first ten months of 2021 to US$2.577 billion in 2022. On the other hand, exports to Saudi Arabia increased by 39.13%, from $1.713 billion in the first ten months of 2021 to $2.384 billion in 2022.
Qatar experienced a similar increase of 41.63% to USD 339.05 million in the January-October 2022 period, compared to USD 239.39 million in 2021. Kuwait, on the other hand, experienced a 69.37% increase from $155.58 million in 2021 to $263.5 million in 2022, while Egypt surged 72.13% from $1.320 billion to $2.273 billion.

Osmar Chohfi, President of the ABCC, said: “The trade balance between Brazil and the Arab countries remained positive in the first ten months of 2022, reflecting the robust and growing trade relationship between the two countries. In the coming months, We expect a further increase in demand for Brazilian products in the region due to a number of factors, including a boost from tourism.
“Brazil’s strong export growth underscores the resilience and ability of the Arab nation to bounce back and prosper, even in challenging global market conditions. The ABCC furthers its efforts to encourage business and explore new avenues for the economic relationship between the two countries. In this regard, Brazil has been and will continue to be a reliable partner of the Arab world.”
Brazil’s total beef exports to Arab countries also saw a significant increase between January 2022 and October 2022, rising by 34.09% to $936.9 million, compared to $698.7 million in 2021. The UAE grew by 40.86% from $166.99 million to $235.22 million in 2022, while Saudi Arabia reported a 6.54% increase to $165.14 million from $155.01 million in Saudi Arabia.
Exports to Qatar surge 91.27%
Qatar, on the other hand, surged 91.27% to $31.45 million from $16.44 million, while Egypt saw a 70.28% increase to $340.32 million, compared to $199.86 million a year earlier.
Similarly, the export of chicken meat from Arab countries also increased by 33.02% from January 2022 to October 2022, from USD 2.004 billion in 2021 to USD 2.666 billion in 2022. The UAE surged 49.48% from $537.46 million in the previous 10 months to $803.41 million in 2022.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia increased by 25.96% to $719.46 million between January and October 2022, compared to $571.19 million last year, while Egypt reported a 36.42% increase from $44.11 million in 2021 to $60.17 million. Qatar is also witnessing an increase in Brazil’s chicken meat exports, from $106.76 million in 2021 to $177.99 million in 2022, an increase of 66.71%. — trade arab news agency
