ABU DHABI, 4th December, 2022 (WAM) — Kris Rugloski, Rylan Schadegg and Veejay Jones competed today in the 3K Team category after overcoming a challenging obstacle course in the Al Wathba Desert in a day of growing sport. Get the Spartan World Championship community in effect.
At the Al Wathba Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, 21 teams of elite international athletes from more than 20 countries competed for a share of $10,000 in prize money, while the Sprint 5K, Super 10K and Kids Opens spanned the 1km, The 2K and 3K saw Spartan rookies of all ages and abilities compete over World Championship weekend.

Kris Rugloski, Ryan Schadegg and Veejay Jones completed three laps in the fastest time of the day in 19 minutes and 5 seconds to claim the Spartan 3K Team World Championship title, ahead of a European team that includes yesterday’s men’s elite winner Sergei Perelygin, Valerii Chebrukov, Alisa Petrova and others ran a collective time of 19 minutes and 86 seconds.
Veejay Jones commented: “Yesterday I competed in the individual world championships and today I competed in the 3K team event. It’s been a tough few months for me because I have health issues and I can’t train normally. I’m really happy, to be It’s awesome to be part of the team and win this race. I won two world titles this year, one as an individual and one as a team, but this is my first time out of the US, in Abu Dhabi It’s been a great experience – I’m looking forward to many more games.”
“Yesterday, I was in the super event and today I was in the 3K team event. It was my first time in Abu Dhabi and it was one of the best first experiences I’ve ever had. It was exciting for my team to finish the race together,” said Kris Rugloski, who, like all the winners, received her prize money.
Through a series of on-site events, a range of food truck options and a partnership with Myzone, the tech fitness brand offering participants the opportunity to constantly monitor their heart rate, Spartan Vilage became a buzzing venue.
