UAE helps 28,000 people flee Afghanistan: official

In an interview with reporters Abu Dhabi, The official said that his country is currently hosting 8,500 evacuees, most of whom are expected to go to United States In the coming days. Others have been hospitalized and are receiving medical care.

The official said that Abu Dhabi did not coordinate any evacuation operations with the Taliban, but the convoy heading to the airport was assured by the United States-despite concerns about the safety on the ground.

The official stated that Abu Dhabi expects the operation to end at the end of this month, which coincides with the August 31 deadline set by the President of the United States. Joe Biden.
