The Office of the Sheikh Khalifa Awards for Excellence, initiated by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has announced the launch of its 21st round of awards, introducing new categories. Registration will be open from November 2022 to June 30, 2023, with a final submission deadline of September 2023.
New categories include: Best Organization for Institutional Innovation, Best Organization for Digital Transformation, and Best Organization for Sustainability Management and Green Economy.
This was announced at a press conference held at the headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce in the presence of Saeed Abdul Jalil Al Fahim, Chairman of the SKEA Higher Committee, and members of the committee: Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Dhaheri, Mohammed Omar Abdullah and Mohamed Helal Al Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce Director General Mheiri.

In his keynote address, Al Fahim said: “Twenty years after its inception, the award continues to achieve its goals by promoting economic and social development and enhancing the competitiveness of public and private companies and institutions at the local, regional and international levels. “This prestigious award has received considerable attention as it is represented by several international organisations. The award represents the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), International Association of Innovation Professionals (IAOIP), Global Benchmarking Network (GBN) , American Society for Quality (ASQ) and Asia Pacific Conference on Quality Control (APQO)).
He added: “The Sheikh Khalifa Award for Excellence is the first award to be named after the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This gives the award even more importance and value as it represents his values, virtues and aphorisms.Although the emergence of Covid-19 hindered the launch of the previous awards, SKEA has demonstrated the highest level of adaptability and flexibility to pass the launch of the 21st cycle to ensure its continuity.”

“The award has seen a significant increase in the number of participants, equivalent to more than 30%, and a 20-25% increase in the number of judges. The increase in participation, as well as the active contributions of local, regional and international judging committees, reflect the A successful model that places a heavy emphasis on institutional excellence.

The SKEA office will organize workshops, seminars and other events to raise awareness of the award, guidelines for participation and requirements.
The award will accept applications from hundreds of companies in the UAE and around the world. It will continue to play a leading role in spreading a culture of creativity, quality and competitiveness by supporting and honoring pioneers of excellence in various fields. Over the course of twenty-three years, more than 1,000 winners from the UAE, as well as dozens from the GCC and around the world, have been honored in various categories of the award.
