World News | US launches investigation into Musk’s Neuralink over animal testing: Report

[ad_1]

washington [US]Dec. 6 (ANI): The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) inspector general has filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk over employee complaints about animal testing, Reuters reports, citing documents reviewed by news organizations and sources familiar with the investigation and the company’s operations. Neuralink launched an investigation.

Reuters reported that since 2018, the company has killed about 1,500 animals after experiments. However, the total number of animal deaths does not necessarily indicate that Musk’s company violated the rules, the report said.

The report added that current and former Neuralink employees claimed that the animal death toll was too high due to Musk’s demands that the research be accelerated.

Citing regulatory filings, the report said Neuralink had passed all USDA inspections of its facilities. A spokesman for the USDA inspector general declined to comment, the report added.
