On Thursday, an ammunition depot in Kazakhstan exploded. Authorities evacuated residents of nearby villages and injured more than 30 people.
The local government said in a statement that the explosion occurred in a Ministry of Defense weapons depot in the southern Jambir area.
It said that 32 people were taken to a hospital in Taraz city due to various injuries.

It added that the fire department is working hard to extinguish the fire and has set up a committee to determine the cause.
The statement said that residents of four villages are being evacuated, including one of 250 people less than one kilometer from the explosion site.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said on Twitter that the injured were emergency service personnel and soldiers.
A video shared on the Telegram messaging app that could not be verified immediately showed a cloud of smoke rising from the fire before a strong explosion sent the flames.
In 2019, an ammunition dumping explosion occurred near the town of Arys in the Turkestan region, resulting in two deaths, dozens of injuries, and tens of thousands of people evacuated.
That explosion was the third fatal explosion near the town in ten years.
