ABU DHABI, 7th December, 2022 (WAM) — Abu Dhabi Customs has welcomed a customs delegation from South Korea.
The visit was aimed at discussing ways to enhance cooperation between the two parties in various customs areas and capacity building activities, in addition to reviewing customs practices in Abu Dhabi and exchanging experiences to support the global trade movement.
The visiting delegation heard about Abu Dhabi Customs’ strategic transformation journey, its extraordinary experience in developing innovative services and applying international best practices, and its role in creating a digital institutional environment that helps enhance security, facilitate trade and provide convenience groundbreaking efforts. Service excellence has enhanced the Emirate of Abu Dhabi’s prestige globally as a prime destination for investment and business.
The South Korean delegation reviewed the efforts of Abu Dhabi Customs in supporting its cadres, applying comprehensive automation to manage human capital, using artificial intelligence and advanced technologies in the HR department and training areas to improve and develop employee skills.
It also reviewed the level of administrative and technical development of human resources at Abu Dhabi Customs, considered a pioneer and the first government agency in the Middle East to implement Oracle Digital Assistant, and to apply the full Oracle HCM cloud suite and analytics project.
During the tour of the innovation lab and training hall, the delegation also learned about VR training technology, which uses virtual reality to implement training and assessment processes, helping to improve the efficiency of Abu Dhabi customs staff.
The South Korean delegation’s visit to Abu Dhabi Customs is the result of Abu Dhabi Customs’ global reputation and international acclaim in applying international best practices, as well as Abu Dhabi Customs’ pioneering role in developing innovations and launching smart customs services initiatives. Customs departments work and support the facilitation of global trade flows, enhancing customer happiness and satisfaction through smooth, fast and efficient services.
Abu Dhabi Customs is keen to transfer its experience and expertise in carrying out customs work to local and international authorities and institutions in a way that contributes to the economic growth of the UAE through the development of international relations.
