Indian quartet gaining popularity for covers of classics and originals
On Friday 23rd December, India’s favorite pop-rock band Sanam performed live at the ‘Sanam Live Concert’ at the Sheikh Rashid Hall of the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The group has more than 10 million subscribers on YouTube and is known for their renditions of Bollywood classics.
Sanam consists of Sanam Puri (Vocal/Composer), Samar Puri (Lyricist/Lead Guitar/Composer), Venky S or Venkat Subramaniyam (Bass Guitar) and Keshav Dhanraj (Drums/Lead Arranger).
Sanam has made a name for himself in the music scene by fusing original scores and covers of classic Hindi film songs, including Lag Jaa Gale, Gulabi Aankhen, O Mere Dil Ke Chain, Pyaar Diwana Hota Hai, Likhe Jo Khat Tujhe, Pehla Nasha, Patthar Ke Sanam, Chala Jata Hoon, Kora Kagaz, Hawa Hawa and ruptera mastana among many others.
Their cover aims to provide a fresh sound without losing the essence of the original.
