Air Arabia Abu Dhabi begins flights to Tashkent – Business Travelers

On Wednesday, December 7th, low-cost airline Abu Dhabi Air Arabia began operating direct flights from Abu Dhabi to Tashkent.

The airline will operate twice-weekly flights between Abu Dhabi International Airport and Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

“We remain confident that this new service will serve both leisure and business travellers, and will further boost tourism in both countries, while providing value for money and added convenience to our customers,” Air Arabia said. said Group CEO Adel Al Ali.

Air Arabia Abu Dhabi started operations in July 2020. The airline’s fleet has grown from two Airbus A320s at launch to eight new aircraft. It has also expanded its network to serve 26 destinations in the capital Abu Dhabi, including Tashkent.

Other regional airlines have also recently announced new flights to Uzbekistan. In September, Saudi low-cost carrier Flynas launched direct flights between Jeddah and the capital of Uzbekistan.

Dubai-based airline flydubai also launched twice-weekly flights to Namangan, Uzbekistan, in September. As such, it became the first airline in the UAE to offer direct flights from Dubai to Namangan, the third largest city in Uzbekistan.

Meanwhile, major hotel groups are gaining a foothold in Uzbekistan. Deutsche Hospitality has signed franchise agreements with Valor Hospitality and Globus Hotels to open its first hotel in Uzbekistan next year. The Intercity Hotel Tashkent in the country’s capital will open in the first quarter of 2023.

IHG Hotels and Resorts also plans to launch its InterContinental brand in the Uzbek capital in the first quarter of next year. The new InterContinental Tashkent will be located in the Trilliant Business Park Development Complex and will have 216 rooms, including 40 suites.
