A group of diners in Abu Dhabi paid more than half a million dirhams for dinner in one night.

The Dhs615,065 incident took place at Nusr-Et Steakhouse in Abu Dhabi, where the restaurant’s bill went viral on social media platforms.

This steakhouse is owned and operated by handsome Turkish butcher, chef and restaurateur Nusret Gokce aka Salt Bae. Nusret owns a chain of steakhouses around the world.

Nusret shared the bill on Instagram.

“Quality is never expensive #saltbae #saltlife #salt…,” he wrote, with a picture of the bill.

When it came to the bill, the most expensive order was bottles of Petrus, a very full-bodied, powerful and concentrated French wine.

The reason the price is so high is that hardly any bottles are produced each year.

The bill showed that five bottles of Petrus cost diners Dh325,000, while two bottles of Petrus 2009 cost another Dh200,000.

Other alcoholic drinks cost AED 45,000 and a glass of Chateau Margaux is AED 15,500.

Other pricey dishes are 15 golden baklava, totaling Dhs5,850.

The cheapest item on the bill was Heineken.

The identity of the diner was not revealed, but the Dh500,000 receipt went viral.

Social media users shared their reactions to the bill, with most criticizing lavish spending.

Aboubaker Lachgar said on Instagram, “This car is 90% alcohol, what quality are you talking about?? Did you make Petrus Louis 13?”

Viktoria Vabishchevych wrote: “$170,000, the stupidest thing ever spent on a toilet. Yes, it’s true, quality food should be in your daily menu. Organic 100%. But I think no matter how expensive it is Cows can’t spend this money congratulations for nusr_et to make good money and business in general. But please at least hide it from people. The gap between rich and poor is so big. Think of people who have never even seen a meat steak in their life. If they at least They’ll be happy with bread…”

Michelle Elise said: “This is crazy. It’s not even about good food. It’s just crime pricing. All ego. Why don’t you take some of the money you overcharge from ridiculously rich people and feed the hungry in third world countries children, and build schools and hospitals for them.”

Others mocked the status post.

One person wrote: “When did you switch from selling expensive steaks to selling wine…?”

Nusret’s fame isn’t just for his mouth-watering steaks, but his techniques for preparing and seasoning the meat that have taken the Internet by storm.

At just 36, his successful chain of restaurants has attracted celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio, Lionel Messi and DJ Khaled, who are as enamored of Nusret as we are.
