Four Asians have been jailed by the Ras Al Khaimah Criminal Court for theft from 15 houses under construction. They will be deported after serving their sentences.
According to case files, the gang targeted four homes that were in the final stages of construction. They climb fences, break doors and windows to steal wires, electrical fixtures, water pumps and other light and expensive items.
Police records say they have received 15 reports of theft from homes under construction. They formed a team of CID officers and their ensuing investigation led to one of the main leads in the case.
Officials suspect some people were waiting for others in an area at night. They were arrested and the suspect was carrying a saw, scissors, a scalpel and a bag of cotton gloves.
After interrogation, they confessed to their criminal facts, so they were charged with theft of 15 houses.
When asked what was done with the goods, they said it was sold to an Asian man who said he didn’t know the goods were stolen.
