Liwan Restaurant at Swissotel Al Ghurair is hosting a festive ‘Around the World’ Brunch featuring festive flavours, produce and decorations. Chefs at Swissotel promise to tickle our festive spirit with chicken terrine, mixed seafood fondue and festive plum cake, as well as exciting festive activities for the kids. Celebrate the art of giving back this holiday season at the Emperor Lounge at Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, The Palm this Sunday. The venue is hosting a Teddy Bear Afternoon Tea Experience, where children are invited to donate a soft toy of their choice, which is then given as a gift to the less fortunate. Younger children can also enjoy freshly made hot chocolate and festive themed treats for AED 75, while accompanying adults can enjoy festive afternoon tea for AED 125.

Get ready for this weekend’s cooking competition at Sustainable City Dubai. Some of the city’s top chefs will join the community’s resident chefs to celebrate sustainability in the kitchen. Ingredients for recipes will come from farms on site. The cook-off will be held on Sunday, December 16th from 4-7pm and everyone is invited, including your pets.

Head to Soul Beach Dubai this Saturday for epic concerts hosted by world-class DJs. This waterside venue hosts an epic 11-hour string of concerts every Saturday. The line-up of international and local talent for the first phase includes Angelos, Caiiro, Culoe De Song, Felix Raphael, Frankey & Sandrino, Guy Mantzur and Kadosh, among others. Starts at 12 noon.

Dubai-based boutique art consultancy Skaya Art is hosting a free-to-attend art exhibition titled Renaissance Art (Dynamic Bright Edition) Yana Rusnak on display at Oblong Contemporary Gallery. The artworks will be on view until January 8 as part of a festival-themed group exhibition, open from 10am to 10pm. A well-known Ukrainian contemporary artist, Yana’s paintings are allegories of how human emotion and character are intertwined with the animal world. Art lovers can request an in-person meeting with her in advance.

This weekend, Liwa Village with FuelFest Arabia will host a music festival and car show on December 17-18. The globally popular celebration of car culture will be held in the UAE for the first time, featuring Hollywood luminaries Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris alongside the late Paul Walker’s brother Cody Walker. The stars will host a question and answer session as well as a performance by the American rapper on Sunday 18 December. Tickets start from AED 100 for single-day passes and AED 1,200 for VVIP passes, including celebrity meet and greets.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the world’s greatest sporting event, comes to a close this Sunday with a bitter clash between Argentina and France. Will Argentina’s Lionel Messi play his final World Cup game for his country and finally lift the coveted trophy, or will Kylian Mbappe and co claim a second successive World Cup title ? Only time will tell. Catch the final on Sunday at 7pm and the third-place play-off between Croatia and Morocco on Saturday at 7pm.

look at the magic nutcracker From December 16th to 17th, the famous Moscow ballet La Classique will be staged at the Dubai Opera. The show is scheduled to begin at 8pm with doors opening at 7.30pm. Ticket prices range from AED 250 to AED 700.

Enjoy a magical and dramatic production snow queen, adapted from Andersen’s 1844 fairy tale. Live performances will take place at the QE2 Theater starting today and running through December 26th. The festive presentation is a captivating story about best friends Gerda and Kai, depicting the struggle between good and evil. Tickets start from AED 99. Show starts at 5pm.

Elven MusicalSpectacular stage adaptations of iconic films Elf Will Ferrell will be in Dubai from December 17th to 24th at The Theater in the Mall of the Emirates.The talented actor from London’s West End will play Elven Musical, produced by Oliver Award winner Paul Taylor-Mills. The show will also feature talented young performers from Diverse, Dubai’s performing arts and entertainment school. Ticket prices start from Dh100.
