Atlanta According to reports, star Donald Glover will star in and produce a film from the world of the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man from Sony Pictures.
source told hollywood reporterthe upcoming film revolves around Hypno-Hustler, one of the lesser known Spider-Man villains.
Miles Murphy, son of veteran actor and comedian Eddie Murphy, will write the as-yet-untitled project.
Created by Bill Mantlo of Rocket Racoon fame, Hypno-Hustler was the leader of a band called the Mercy Killers and used hypnotic techniques on the instruments of his listeners in order to rob them.
The character, whose real name is Antoine Delsoin, was a product of the disco music scene when he first appeared in a comic book ‘Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man #24‘ 1978.
According to industry sources, Glover — also a rapper better known by his stage name Childish Gambino — was drawn to the musical side of Hypnotist Liar, and he has less of the classic Marvel baggage.
His name has been around Spider-Man for years, notably in the 2012 film the Amazing Spider-Man, which finally saw Andrew Garfield play the web-thrower.However, Glover voices Spider-Man/Miles Morales in the Disney XD series ultimate spiderman 2015.he also had a very brief role Spider-Man: Homecomingstarring Tom Holland.
Sony owns the film rights to Spider-Man and related villains Venom and Morbius, and is developing films about Spider-Man and Spider-Man.
