LAHORE – The ousted Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan announced on Saturday that his legal team has filed a defamation lawsuit against a leading news channel, its prime-time presenter and dubious Emirati figure Umar Farooq Zahoor, alleging File corruption charges.
In a social media post, the defiant politician said his UAE lawyers, led by Hassan Shad, had brought criminal defamation against Geo TV, Shahzeb Khanzada and Umer Farooq Zahoor under UAE law (defamation and libel) lawsuits.
The PTI chief launched legal action against the organization that accused Khan of selling expensive watches, which he bought from state warehouses.

Earlier, the former prime minister appeared on the Emirati business tycoon’s Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath On the show, he claimed he purchased Toshakana gifts Imran received as prime minister, including a watch given to him by the Saudi crown prince.
The Toshakhana affair has continued to make headlines recently, with two audio clips purportedly surfacing of ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi discussing watch sales.
In the first segment, Bushra Bibi instructs Zulfi Bukhari to sell Imran Khan’s watch adverts to accuse the former employee of Bani Gala’s residence of taking pictures of Toshakhan’s gift in the second segment.
Following an outcry from the ruling coalition, a Pakistani news anchor recently produced documents that contradict Khan’s claim that he is free to keep or sell gifts he received as Pakistan’s prime minister from foreign dignitaries.
